Matthew 23:11 - KJVThe Leadership Team at GTAM is comprised of men, women and families who have demonstrated a love first of the Lord and secondarily of GTAM. These are individuals who have dedicated themselves to serving and attending to the needs of the community in which GTAM is blessed to serve. All members of the GTAM Leadership Team are volunteers that have committed to sharing with us their Time, Talents and Tithes. Our Leadership Philosophy follows the leadership model presented by Christ: we are short on titles and positions and long on action and getting this done in a Spirit of Excellence. We strive to offer the very best quality of ministry and excel in all that we do. This is not limited to our efforts in the ministry but is a part of who we are and therefore a facet of every aspect of our lives.Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (I Corinthians 1:10 – KJV) Our Leadership Team operates as just that… a Team! No one role or activity is greater than any other. Our success in ministry is dependent upon every member of the team working together in their respective roles. Consider the puzzle: every piece unique in its pattern and composition. Yet, each piece as important as the next. Every piece of the puzzle must work together to fit into its place in order for the image of the puzzle to be complete. This holds true in ministry at GTAM. Each member of the Leadership Team must work together to fit into its place in order for the vision of the ministry to be fulfilled.

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” Phillipians 3:12Called to serve and desired to lead, Minister Ashley Thomas was called into the ministry at the ripe age of 17. As a PK, Minister Thomas was born into a family of Ministerial Leaders and from a young age became passionate and excited about the Word of God and sharing His greatness. Minister Thomas had served in various leadership capacities upon her elevation to Minister at Grace and Truth Apostolic Ministries in 2010. Currently, Minister Thomas is the founder and overseer of UnCut Young Adult Ministry which she co-leads with her husband Deacon Curtis Thomas and Minister Kelsey Kornegay, she also teaches the youth of Up To Good Youth Ministry, provides post-marital and pre-marital counseling with her husband, a member of the Intercessory Prayer Team, and Who’s That Lady Women’s Ministry.Minister Thomas was born in Columbia, SC. She is the youngest of three children. On September 27th, 2008 she married Deacon Curtis Thomas and they have a beautiful baby girl Corinne Elizabeth Thomas. She is a professional Social Worker emphasizing in Policy and Administration in the area of Children, Youth, and Family.Minister Thomas relocated to WA. State upon acceptance into the University of Washington School of Social Work Master’s Program in 2006, after completion of her education at Columbia College in 2005, earning a B.A. in Psychology. Upon her move Minister Thomas knew that God had something far greater than education and nearness to her partner in store and was eager to begin her journey. In 2007, Minister Thomas and Deacon Thomas got engaged but knew they needed Christian pre-marital counseling. After much seeking and praying Minister Thomas was referred to Pastor and First Lady Michael Miller by one of her mentors. It was during the rigorous, challenging, and successful counseling that her and fiancé began attending GTAM and knew it was the place that God had called them to be. They are committed to the Vision of GTAM and continue to remain eager and diligent in the work and will of God.

VISION STATEMENT

"A soul centered ministry that is unified in purpose, having Jesus Christ as its foundation and the Holy Spirit as its guide"

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish". The New International Version (NIV) of the same passage gives us additional insight into the value of vision informing us "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint". The purpose of having a vision is to keep the Ministry focused on those things God has set the Ministry out to accomplish. Without vision, people lose sight of why they are putting forth effort and only see the effort they are expending. If this pattern of behavior continues it is easy to see why restraint would be cast off and self indulgence would become the order of the day. A life of self-indulgence will ultimately end in destruction; a Ministry of self-indulgence would be faced with the same fate! The vision of the Grace and Truth Apostolic Ministry can be categorized into 4 key segments; the first being "A soul centered Ministry". This Ministry has been established to draw new souls to the body of Christ and as such we are evangelistic in our approach. Jesus left these simple instructions for us in Mark 16: 15 "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." A second segment of our vision is being "Unified in Purpose". Paul gave us this command in I Corinthians 1:10 "that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement." The sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts; much more can be accomplished when our efforts are focused in the same direction and on the same tasks. The purpose of this Ministry is to win souls to Christ, it is our prayer that everyone affiliated with this Ministry will be unified in this purpose. Next we move into the foundation of our Ministry and that is Jesus Christ! Jesus tells us in Matthew 16:18" upon this rock I will build my church". The rock Jesus referred to was not an actual rock, rather he spoke metaphorically about Peter's revelation. God revealed to Peter that Jesus was not just a man or a prophet, Peter had the understanding that Jesus was the Christ, our anointed savior, the son of the living God! The foundation upon which the church is to be built, is this revelation of who Jesus is. The fourth and final segment of our vision is the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our endeavor is to have a Ministry that is inspired and lead by God as we move ahead in the fulfillment of his purpose. This is accomplished through the work of the Holy Spirit, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth." John 16:13 This is the vision of the Grace and Truth Apostolic Ministries, "A soul-centered Ministry that is unified in purpose, having Jesus Christ as its foundation and the Holy Spirit as its guide." Now that you know and understand our vision, it is our sincerest prayer that the Holy Spirit will guide you into becoming a part of this dynamic purpose driven Ministry.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

It is not feasible to articulate the complete statement of our faith in this format other than to state our faith is based upon the full content of the Bible. However, we will attempt to convey certain key aspects of our faith here. The Bible is the infallible Word of God (II Timothy 3:16)We believe that all scriptures were the inspired work of God. Because the content of the scriptures were inspired by God, we believe them to be fundamentally accurate. Whether certain passages should be translated literally or figuratively largely depends on the context of the passage, but whether literal or figurative the significance and integrity of the content of the both the passage and Bible in general is in no way compromised. We accept the “canon” of scriptures, including all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments as the authentic inspired writings of the Bible referenced in II Timothy 3:16. While other writings may exists and offer some historic and other value, we do not give them the same consideration as the canon of scriptures and dismiss them totally where they conflict with the authentic and inspired scriptures. Faith (Hebrews 11:1)It is important that it is understood, Christianity and all of it tenants are a faith. We define faith as the belief in something in the absence of absolute evidence. This should not be confused with what is commonly referred to as “blind faith”. It is not that there is no substance in our belief, but that we acknowledge there are some things for which there is no definitive proof. For example, there is ample evidence to suggest the existence of Jesus and the circumstances surrounding his natural death. However, it is a matter of faith that his death was an act of propitiation for our sins. We do not dispute with the facts of science and believe that science and Christianity are not mutually exclusive. One can, and in fact many do, believe in the facts of science and maintain a faith in Christianity. While we acknowledge our understanding of all things in scripture is incomplete, we also must also acknowledge that the facts of science are also incomplete; for what was once held as fact for scientist was later determined to be inaccurate. In our efforts to gain a better understanding of things related to life, our planet and the universe it is not possible to remove the element of faith from the Christian. Without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6) Therefore, we accept that there are going to be areas related to our faith to which we do not have a complete understanding or explanation, yet we accept them as true… by faith.It is because of our faith in the word of God and the principles of Christianity that we behave in the manner in which we do. For faith without works is dead; our faith is therefore evidenced by our works. (James 2:17 – 18)

What is the Apostles Doctrine and what does it mean to be Apostolic? Doctrine simply means teachings or instructions, so when we say Apostles Doctrine we are referring to the teachings and instruction of the Apostles as they received it from Jesus. Acts 2:42 tells us that the first church ever established continued in the Apostles Doctrine... "And they continued stedfastly in the Apostles Doctrine and fellowship". The original apostles were those hand selected group of men that followed Jesus throughout his earthly ministry. During the time the apostles spent with Jesus, they received valuable instructions and directions. The time the apostles spent with Jesus is chronicled in the four gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The implementation of that teaching can be found in the remainder of the New Testament from Acts to Revelation. A vital component of the Apostles Doctrine is the plan of salvation, that is what does it take to be saved from Gods wrath to come in response to sin on the earth. Gods plan of salvation for mankind is comprised of five basic components: Belief, Repentance, Water Baptism, Infilling of the Holy Spirit and a Holy life. We will review each briefly below to familiarize you with the our doctrinal position, however it is not intended to be a thorough exposition, the best method for that is Bible study. Belief in God is the first step in obtaining eternal salvation. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, "for he that cometh to God must believe that he is". Once belief in God has been established, that belief will prompt you to take action. That action is to discover what God desires out of your life and then to put those desires into place in your life. The only place to discover this plan for your life is through the word of God, found in the Bible. Repentance is the act of changing ones mind and behavior. When any aspect of our lives are not in alignment with Gods word we are moving in a direction that takes us away from a relationship with God. In order to restore that relationship, we have to change the way we think about what we are doing and then change what we are doing. This is the act of repentance and is clearly illustrated in the biblical account of the prodigal son found in Luke 15:11-32 Baptism is an outward sign or demonstration that a change has taken place on the inside and is required to be saved. Mark 16:16 reads, "He that believe and is baptized shall be saved". Baptism comes from the Greek word baptizo, which means to be completely immersed or fully wet. We follow the biblical method of baptism, which is complete immersion in water. When you are baptized, you will be baptized in the only name given among men whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12) that is in Jesus name. Holy Spirit is the Spirit, character and nature of God. The Holy Spirit is the power that will enable us to overcome our sinful nature and take on the nature of God. The Spirit is also there to be a comforter to us (John 14:16,26; 15:26) and to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). The evidence or sign that a believer has been filled with the Holy Spirit is the supernatural event of speaking in other tongues found in Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:6. Holiness pertains to the quality of life that God intends for us to live. Although living a Holy life includes living a morally sound life, it does not end there. To live a Holy life is to live a life as God would as demonstrated in the life that Jesus lived. The bible gives us a couple of clear indications as to why we should live not only morally pure lives but Holy lives as well; because He is Holy (Leviticus 19:2, 21:8) and because without it we cannot see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). This is Gods plan of salvation for mankind, as Jesus delivered it to the apostles who in turn taught and implemented it in the 1st century church. History tells us that after the death of the original apostles, men that had not been with Jesus altered and changed what had been originally established. This diluting of the true gospel was foreseen by the apostles and warned against in the bible (Jude 4). As a result of the dilution of the gospel and the opinions of men we have the many different "denominations" today. Being Apostolic is not another "denomination". Apostolic is a derivation of the word Apostle. Being Apostolic means we identify our faith with the same faith of the 1st church started on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). By so doing, we maintain doctrinal purity and the integrity of the teachings of Christ as they were delivered to the apostles and thus on to the 1st century church. Simply stated we believe and teach the same things the first church did. Others of our faith sometimes refer to themselves as Pentecostals, meaning they also identify themselves with the 1st church started on the day of Pentecost. Those outside of our faith sometimes equate us with being Charismatic or Evangelical Christians, because we believe in the gifts of the Spirit and in the speaking of other tongues. However this would not be an accurate statement because we have strong doctrinal differences. We have a biblical history and a Godly heritage. We pray that the tenants of our faith are clearly seen and understood just as they are clearly supported and taught in the scriptures.

Symphony of PraiseSymphony of Praise (SOP) is comprised of vocalists who love God, one another, and are committed to the task of sharing Christ with others. Following the biblical pattern in the Book of Acts, and the vision of the ministry of Grace & Truth Apostolic Ministries (GTAM) we strive to build True Worship Experience, fellowship, discipleship, witness and prayer. As a unified body leading the congregation into worship, we facilitate the preparation of the hearts and minds for the word of God by inviting all to express their joy to the Lord - praising Him for who He is and for what He has done - to the accompaniment of music. Our aim is to come together as “One Church, One Sound, and One Voice” (II Chronicles 5:12) providing a place for the presence of the Lord to rest within the hearts of the people and in the mist of the congregation. We understand when operating in such unity, it sets a platform for the preached word of God to go forth without any hindrance or confusion.So come on in and experience a taste of God’s Ministry at GTAM.

Man Up - Stronger than a FellowshipWhat is Man Up? “A call to the believer to live life in such a way that it requires a supernatural explanation.” (Senior Deacon Charles Banks) Man Up is a Ministry that is directed at males and intended to challenge them to step Up their performance as Men. No matter what we have or have not accomplished, males need to continue to step up their life and role as men. If you are a male who has been to jail, dropped out of High School, conceived children with women you are not married or committed to, have done or are currently using drugs, you need to step up your life and role as a man. “Man Up”! If you are a College graduate, Corporate executive, happily married, loving father and community leader, you need to step up your life and role as a man. Yes, you too need to “Man Up”! It may seem self evident why someone in the first example needs to “Man Up”, but we may be sitting here in bewilderment about the second example. It would seem that the example of the second man is clean and pristine, what more could we ask of him? A lot more, because where much has been given much is also required. It’s not good enough to do well in life for yourself; that “I got mine, now you get yours” mindset is destructive, selfish and certainly not consistent with the life principles given to us by our creator. He must share what he has learned; adopt or mentor others who are struggling or not as advantaged as he may be. That may seem like a lot to ask. That’s why he too must “Man Up”! Man Up is directed at all men, regardless of race, ethnicity, education, socio-economic status, religious affiliation, marital status, etc. It is for Black men, White men, Hispanic men, Asian men, Native American men, college educated men, men with GED’s or High School drop outs, it is for men who have criminal records and for the straight and narrow man. In short, if you were born a male Man Up is intended for you. It is more than a men’s ministry and stronger than a fellowship of men. Man Up is not just for men in the church; it is for all men, the churched and un-churched. We will challenge men in ways that may make them uncomfortable, but in ways that they must be challenged if they are to Up their performance as men. You will not be talked down to, lectured, chastised or otherwise demeaned; men have endured enough of that for long enough. You will however, be confronted with your weaknesses, encouraged in your strengths and equipped to elevate your lives as men. Our times together will not be simply game time, hang out time or play time; they will be Man Up times where we will have fun together, learn together and flat out dare to get better. We encourage anyone 16 years of age and older to participate in Man Up. Why 16 and not 18 or 21? Because developing young men need to learn at an early age what it really is to be a man and how they can step up and “Man Up”. Please refer to the calendar of upcoming events and services to find out the date and time of our next gathering. Each gathering will be directed at a certain area in which males need to “Man Up”! We look forward to seeing you there as we work together and help each other step up our lives and roles as men. No excuses… “Man Up”!

To fervently Minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ, applying the grace of the cross with the truth of the scriptures; administering hope, restoration and a balanced life through the teachings of the Apostles while maintaining a personal relationship with God.
What is it that differentiates a Mission from a Vision? The Vision is intended to tell what we see, whereas the mission is intended to tell us how we are going to get there. Simply put, the Mission is the road map to get you to your Vision! We do not preach or teach a weak gospel, it is the power of this gospel that God uses to bring forth salvation. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation." (Romans 1:16) It is this gospel we Minister that gives us the key to an eternity with God. It is our intention to win souls to Christ by sharing a message of hope, restoration and a balanced life, applying the grace of the cross with the truth of the scriptures, thus the formation of the name of our ministry "Grace and Truth". It is strictly by the grace of God, that we have an opportunity for salvation. Ephesians 2:8 tells us "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." This grace was afforded us, by the willingness of Christ to endure the cross and bear our sins for us, not by the goodness of our humanly efforts. This is why we say, "Thank You Jesus"! The Bible instructs us "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 The truth is very powerful, those that know it have what it takes to govern their natural as well as their spiritual lives. Our Ministry applies the truth of the scriptures, thereby giving us the freedom to hope, the freedom to be restored in our faith toward God, the freedom to live a balanced life and most importantly to be freed from the sentence of sin. The results of sin are separation from God, by applying the truth of the scriptures, we are then free to pursue our relationships with God. Our intention is to help those we serve by leading them to a stronger relationship with God, through the ministering of the truths taught in the Bible. Our mission is designed to help you grow in your relationship with God. We are confident that you desire to grow in your relationship with God, just as we are and will become a part of the fulfillment of our mission.

…And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:47 - KJVPastors Michael and Shantail Miller and their Family, including 5 children at the time, relocated to the Pacific Northwest from San Diego, CA on August 16, 1999 with a vision of founding a ministry and being a catalyst for spiritual revival in the Region. Grace & Truth Apostolic Ministries (GTAM) was birthed in November 1999 in Kent, WA a suburb of Seattle, WA and the approximate mid-point between the two of the largest metropolitan areas of Washington State; Seattle and Tacoma. There were 3 families in attendance at the first Bible Study held on November 3, 1999 at the Kent Commons and Recreation Center. The first Sunday morning service was held on November 28, 1999 at the Kent Memorial Park Building. The ministry has continued to see measured growth since that time as it has matured and endured many changes in worship facilities and ministry dynamics. In August of 2004, GTAM moved into its current worship facility after making extensive renovations to the space. Today, GTAM worships in a beautiful facility which can accommodate over 200 worshippers. Many thanks are owed to those that caught the vision and ran with it to get the Ministry this far in its journey.

UnCutDo your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)Something unseen, something unheard of, yet something desired by every young adult………UnCut consists of young adults ages 18-35 who share a collective desire to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ and take a radical approach in spreading His gospel in unique and nontraditional ways. It is the ultimate goal that one's body, mind, and soul would be ministered to fostering their growth, understanding and love for Jesus Christ.Programs and opportunities that you'll be able to take part in include: Kasual Konversations for young adults to dialogue, share, and dig deeper in the Word. Held every 3rd Saturday of the month at GTAM from12:30-2:30pm with social outings to follow. Topics include marriage/dating, job readiness, spiritual growth/maturity, health awareness, education advancement, etc.GTAM Premixer/Lounge including live contemporary gospel, spoken word, and Christian comedy are just to name a few. As well as evangelistic and outreach opportunities, leadership within the community and much more. If you are desiring to learn more about Christ, take your relationship with Him to the next level, and experience God in a different and dynamic way then UnCut is the ministry for you!
